Barcelona, an Olympic, Mediterranean city, has the ideal climate for tennis and other sports. It is the focal point of Spanish tennis and the European capital of this sport. In the Greater Barcelona area alone there are more tennis clubs than in the rest of Spain. Competitions of every level are organised within 25 kilometres of the club, which makes for a high level prevailing even in amateur tournaments.
