The ACADEMIA SANCHEZ CASAL is aware of the importance of maintaining sustainable development through tourism, and is in accordance with the principles and objectives specifically adopted at the World Summit on Sustainable Development 2015 COP21 and the World Charter on Sustainable Tourism + 20. ASC is committed to ensuring the sustainable management of its activities, through the adoption of policies aimed at preventing, eliminating or reducing the impact of our facilities and activities on the environment. Policies are both internal and external, and optimize the sustainability of the establishment in order to improve its impact on the environment.
In the same vein, our campus has adopted the following Responsible Tourism Policy, which outlines our compliance with the requirements established in the BIOSPHERE adhesion. The policy includes, among other things, adhering to the legal requirements that regulate the tourism industry and its effects on the environment.
Likewise, we commit ourselves to train and motivate our staff on environmental issues, creating awareness about the principles of Responsible Tourism. The objective is to promote positive environmental practices, encourage participation in external activities, and to inform both internally and externally about the progress of the company in environmental actions.
Similarly, our campus expresses its wholehearted commitment towards combating sexual exploitation, any other form of exploitation or commercial abuse, in particular of children, adolescents, women and minorities. We commit ourselves to implementing measures that provide accessibility to our campus for all users.
One of our main objectives is to improve sustainability at the management level, making a commitment to continuous improvement in all areas: with social, economic and environmental goals just as important as customer satisfaction. Future expansion projects in our facilities or activities will be created using our sustainability and efficiency criteria to select resources.
This Responsible Tourism Policy will be updated when circumstances require, and will include the publication and adaption of new sustainability objectives as they arise.
