The Sanchez-Casal Academy has introduced a new service this year, expanding its program by creating a nutritional consultation service alongside our recognized partner, Nutritional Coaching.
This project was recently explained to the parents, students and coaches in an introductory presentation. Three ASC departments worked together to create this dynamic nutritional program: the Food Services Department, the Physiotherapy Department, and the Sports Science Department.
During the year, student-athletes from the Sánchez-Casal Academy and ES International School will receive a total of five training sessions with the aim of understanding the importance of nutrition and hydration in athletic performance and recovery.
During meal times, specialized staff will monitor student-athletes’ nutritional intake, controlling what is consumed and recommending the most appropriate foods for each student-athlete’s case.
Nutritional information is essential to the parents or guardians, who are at all times caring for the student-athlete, ensuring they are in the best conditions, or the “ideal state”, for training and competing. On a daily basis, the goal is to provide them with the energy needed to get through their busy schedules of training and school at ES International School.
We also conduct special monitoring of the younger annual students registered in our Elementary School. Student-Athletes under 11 years old have their own special menu and are supported and supervised during meal times by two ES International School teachers and other restaurant staff, so that they can learn in a guided setting how to make healthy choices about eating habits and develop positive behavior patterns.
